Pilgrim house
Pilgrim House in Medieval Theme Park presents medieval lifestyle related to pilgrims and pilgrimage.
Vastseliina Episcopal castle was built in the 14th century in the southeast corner of Tartu Bishopsy to protect the important connecting road between Old Livonia and Pskov. For three centuries the fortress remained unconquered and only fell during the Livonian War when a rebellion arose among the defenders.
In order to better visualize what the Vastseliina fortress might have looked like, archaeologists from the University of Tartu created a three-dimensional digital reconstruction of the fortress in cooperation with 3D artists.
The creation of the model was financed by the Estonian Science Agency and the Postimehe Foundation through the Young Estonia research grant.
