* recommended for school children aged
The castle’s inhabitants provide a workshop for introducing the medieval table manners. As a result, the other members of the court are able to study acceptable behaviour and good manners at the dinner table. The programme consists of a tour in the castle that is followed by a simple meal with the introduction of customs by a guide. Young lassies and lads find out that it was forbidden to place the head on the plate or carving the teeth with a knife was rude. Also, pinching the mate was impolite.
Simple meal consists of:
- Barley porridge with smoked pork and barley scone
- House cake, herb tea, bread drink
